StoryTelling Workshop
with Regina Stoops
Got a story to tell? Discover the art of personal storytelling in this fun, welcoming, six-week class. Through simple exercises and supportive feedback, you’ll learn how to shape your story, trust your voice, and feel more comfortable sharing it out loud. In this course, you’ll take a real-life moment and turn it into a great 5-minute story.
No writing or performance experience needed—just a willingness to explore and share.
We’ll wrap up with a relaxed, supportive showcase where you can share your crafted, true, 5-minute personal story and cheer each other on.

Jewelry Making Workshop - Oct 2026

Quilled Snowflakes
Guest artist Jan Watling will teach the basics of quilling (rolled paper strips) to make snowflakes for your Christmas tree. Kits will be passed out. You'll be hooked on quilling!

What Is Design Workshop

Ages: 14 - 19
"What is Design" is an overview of various design fields such as graphic design, fashion design, product design, interior design & landscape design.
The students will get hands-on experience designing their own projects. This class is ideal for students middle school through early adults looking to learn more about the design fields and explore their interests.
Curriculum:Part 1: An interactive presentation on "What is Design," covering graphic, fashion, product, landscape, interior, architecture, and urban design.
Part 2: A hands-on project where students choose from several design options.
Part 3: A "Show and Tell" session for students to present their work.
*All art materials for the class will be provided.
Materials Provided: Full-color 8.5x11 PDF booklets for each student that they can take home.
One day class from 10 am to 12 pm.

Children's Afterschool Art - Nov

In this fun and welcoming children’s art class, young artists are encouraged to explore a wide variety of materials, techniques, and imaginative themes while building confidence in their creativity. From drawing and painting to collage, sculpture, and mixed media, each session offers hands-on projects that spark curiosity and self-expression. Students will experiment, take creative risks, and discover their unique artistic voice in a supportive, non-judgmental environment where the focus is on process, play, and the joy of making art.

Adult Intermediate Painting - Nov 2026

Designed for adults who have completed a beginning painting course or have a basic foundation in painting, this intermediate class helps students expand their technical skills and artistic confidence.
Working with a variety of media—including acrylic, watercolor, gouache, and more—participants will refine their understanding of color, composition, value, and brushwork while exploring more advanced techniques and creative approaches.
Individual guidance encourages students to strengthen their personal style, tackle more complex subjects, and develop finished works in a supportive and inspiring studio environment.

Adult Drawing - Nov 2026

Unleash your creativity and sharpen your skills in this relaxed, supportive drawing class designed for adults of all experience levels. Whether you’re a beginner exploring the basics or a practiced artist looking to refine your technique, this course offers guidance in line, form, shading, perspective, and composition.
Each session includes hands-on instruction, demonstrations, and time for personal exploration using a variety of materials—graphite, charcoal, ink, and more. Enjoy the freedom to experiment and develop your own artistic voice in a welcoming community setting at the Bothwell Arts Center.

Adult Beginning Painting - November

This introductory painting class is designed for adults with little or no previous experience. Students will explore foundational painting skills while working with a variety of media, including acrylic, watercolor, gouache, and more.
The class covers essential techniques such as color mixing, brushwork, layering, and composition in a supportive, step-by-step environment.
Each session builds confidence and creativity, allowing participants to experiment and discover their preferred medium while developing their personal style.
