Designed to introduce participants to the basics of this traditional art form, suitable for beginner skill levels, with the goal of teaching attendees to create their own batik designs!

Starts with a brief overview of batik’s history, followed by a hands-on session where participants will learn how to apply wax and dye to fabric.

All participants will be able to take a finished piece they have made home.

All necessary materials, including fabric, wax, dyes, and brushes, will be provided.

There is a material charge of $40 that is due on class day.

Led by the fabulous Yjnt Malladi, whose background and training have led to seeing batik as a medium of artistic expression, conceptualizing bespoke scarves and designs through colorful, contemporary designs.

Bird Earrings and Bird Nest Necklaces

Our favorite glass bird-maker has made some wonderful tiny birds that we will make into earrings and/or incorporate into our bird nest necklace.

We will practice making the bail and wrapping the wire for these jewelry pieces. All materials and equipment are provided.

Make mosaic pendants using a special epoxy clay, stones and seed beads, findings and your imagination. We will then attach necklaces or earrings. All materials included.

We will pour out our collection of wonderful beads, gems, and findings so that we can create our own earrings, bracelets and/or necklaces.

October Jewelry making workshop

Intro to Wire Wrapping:  Learn how to bend wire into decorative shapes to hold your beads onto your earrings and necklaces.

Our teacher Charlene has been wire wrapping for eternity (!) and will share her knowledge.

Woven Seed Bead Kumihimo Bracelets

Let's go back to learning the Japanese art of kumihimo and add seed beads to enhance our jewelry bracelets.

Great addition to those who have taken the beginning kumihimo classes.
